Our Inspiration

Esengmeans Joy in Lingala, the national language of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Beyond joy, it represents that which is positive in all of us.

The creator's grandmother, grandmother Safi, who was diabetic used to eat her grapefruit wholeheartedly.  She used to make a hole at the top of the fruit and suck all the juice all the way to the last drop. Then, she feasted on the flesh until the meat of the grapefruit was completely gone triggering envy from her audience. Life, like grapefruit, must be consumed wholeheartedly so that we can have, maintain, and give EsengO

Grandmother Safi taught her family that, regardless of how much money you have or who you are, the full abundant life is available to you if you start by changing the way you think, then your words, then your actions.  Nothing is impossible with EsengO

Grandmother Safi saw her life change from the inside out. Although she lost her mother as a child, she went on to have 5 children, 22 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Educated by missionaries, she proceeded to run several businesses and was an elementary school Principal. She was fruitful and multiplied. Her secret? EsengO.

Fondation EsengO is our vehicle to ensure that living wholeheartedly lives on beyond the 81 years grandmother Safi spent on earth.

Who We Are

Following her grandmother's footsteps, Nancy  Zagbayou, through Fondation EsengO, hopes to cultivate as much joy as humanly possible in the hearts and minds of her clients.

She came to yoga from a business and law background after spending nearly a decade in the corporate world. She is a graduate of McGill's Faculty of Law where she completed a major in commercial negotiation and dispute resolution. Nancy discovered yoga and meditation in Indonesia at the Bali silent retreat.

She completed her Yin yoga, Gentle yoga, and 200hr Hatha teacher trainings at Happy Tree Yoga (RYS Yoga Alliance) in Montreal. Her life was transformed after completing a 10 day silent Vipassana meditation course.

As a believer, she strives to live by the words of her favourite verse: "I will show you my faith by what I do". She looks forward to the opportunity to cultivate your joy.
